We have now released this feature. See here:

I would like to see it built into Jira's Automations. I would like that IF I say yes or no or complete a task that an automation will generate to an email of my choosing.
Martin Seibert
Thanks for your reviews and the calls we had. We're preparing a first release with the first version of triggers and actions. Please note that we keep interested in getting in contact with anyone who can give feedback on Jira automation needs for our checklists app. Just come to our chat and let's schedule a call.

We have created a first concept document for our planned implementation. Please review and help us refine and improve with your feedback. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dlJGDep1o8mZDC5_5HTjGFktnhHyt7UD/view?usp=sharing

We have added this to our sprint today and will work on it in the next three weeks. The goal is to have something. We believe that there will be more integrations possible. Afterwards. So please bear with us. And if you like the feature, now is the right time to reach out and talk to us. How about joining our chat: https://seibert.biz/checklistschat

As we are working on a concept for this, we would like to ask all those who are interested in this feature to share your specific use cases or how you would envision an automation that incorporates checklists. This would help us a lot in order to figure out in what ways we can realize it. Thanks in advance!

Lisa Schaar: I see us using it to automatically assign task list relevant to project on transition from one status to another. Also to add steps to the already assigned task list based on a transition.
We would also use it to prevent closure of the issue if the task list is not complete (task list might include for example: checkboxes for documentation update, committing to Github or communication of resolution).
I am a supporter of multiple checklists per issue so please put some forethought to ensure that the solution proposed here will be flexible enough to handle multiple checklists should they be added in the future.

planned
To support Jira automation (and integration with other Jira forge apps with no egress) we could create a custom field that comes with installing the didit checklist app in Jira. This custom field is a select field that will hold all checklist templates in this instance. Up to 10000 select options are supported in Jira cloud: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v3/api-group-issue-custom-field-options--apps-/#api-rest-api-3-field-fieldkey-option-post - When someone chooses an option in the custom field the issue will automatically get a new checklist from the chosen template assigned. In the didit checklist log, there will be links to the old and the new checklist. With Jira automation, you can easily set values for custom fields.

Yes, please! This is why I want to use checklists. I want to prevent a task to be progressed if the checklist is not completed.

Mauro Gagna you can add a validation in that requires that now.
Mauro Gagna
Adrian Bass Thanks. I'll give it a go, and report back if there are any problems.

Agreed! Right now, I use automation with subtasks to break things down. I'm trying to work with checklists more and not supporting automation makes it difficult to implement checklists across all tasks.
